The Dirty Goat 16

Current Issue - The Dirty Goat 16
Excerpts
The Dirty Goat 16 voyages to the European continent featuring bilingual selections from Göran Sonnevi's epic work Mozart's Third Brain, two early poems by Nobel Prize winner Luigi Pirandello, an essay by Brigitte Kronauer and poetry by Günter Kunert from Germany, as well as a healthy selection of poems by Russia's Tatiana Scherbina. Paul Eluard, Philippe Jaccottet, Raymond Queneau and Jacques Réda constitute the largest selection of French poetry ever to appear in The Dirty Goat. The issue also continues our tradition of presenting art from other far flung corners of the globe. There is poetry from Mexico by Jorge Fernandez Granados, from Argentina/Spain by Noni Benegas, from Singapore by Desmond Kon Zhicheng-Mingde and Angola by Goncalo M. Tavares. Two cowboy songs from the Sertão and Plínio Marcos's seminal AIDS drama The Purple Stain (presented in its entirety) offer a taste of Brazil. There is also large selection of poetry, prose and drama from the United States. The four color photography by Sophia Jackson and paintings by Mexican muralist Jaime Vargas round out this issue.
