Excerpts
The Dirty Goat 25 features remarkable work from several countries making their debut in this issue. A highlight of the issue is a large selection of Eritrean oral poetry, which is featured in English translation alongside the original Tigrinya. Finland makes its debut with the haunting prose of Anja Snellman, with an excerpt of Pet Shop Girls. Two short stories by Moldavia's Yekhiel Shraybman are also included. Jeremy Larochelle offers an essay and translations of six contemporary poets from the Amazon, providing a unique perspective on current literary trends from this unique region. The Dirty Goat continues to explore the poetry of less-represented parts of the world with selections by Iran's Nader Naderpour and the Congo's Tchicaya u Tam'si. Europe continues to offer a cornucopia of new literary delights with prose and poetry from François Cheng, Georges Perros and Dirty Goat stalwart, Jacques Reda. The avant-garde poems of Italy's Aldo Palazzeschi and the moving work of Spain's Carlos Pardo and Luis Muñoz continue to show the bounty of literary genius coming from Europe. The visual medium is celebrated by two Americans - painter James Antonson and photographer Michael Filmowicz.

Also includes a cumulative index of The Dirty Goat issues 1-25.
